Dementia: Inside & Out the Experience ©

Many have been touched by dementia at some point in our lives. The statistics are staggering. Over 5.4 millions of Americans are suffering with Alzheimers and 5.2 of them are over 65 years of age, as reported by the Alzheimers Association. The Alzheimers Association also states that, “In 2015, 15.9 million family and friends provided 18.1 billion hours of unpaid care to those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.”

This has taken a significant toll on caregivers alike. The emotional stress of a caregiver is partially due to the lack of experience and/or understanding of the debilitating disease.

This is why we have developed the program, Dementia From the Inside Out, The Experience. This is a live, interactive experience that demonstrates how life is for a dementia patient. Through the use of props and simulations every participant gets to experience what dementia would be like for them. They are interviewed before and after the experience in order to provide them with a custom understanding of what they have learned. Each participant also receives valuable information about the disease, the expected progression of the disease, possible outcomes of the disease as well as how and where they can gain additional support.
The only way to care for someone in a loving compassionate way is by understanding what they are experiencing and having the knowledge and training to support your efforts.  Until now, this has been a labor of love for so many family members with no official training unless you are nurse or employed as a caregiver.

We are bringing the necessary training to the front line, the family members. This will enable you to apply some learned principles in a kind and loving way to make sure you enjoy your loved one during their remaining years.

Who Benefits From The Experience:

Anyone with a Loved One who may be starting with Dementia
Personnel in Service Industries who may run across elderly people
Anyone in the official Caregiving capacity
Anyone who worries they might have it themselves one day

This Program runs from 2-4 hours with each participant duration of approx. 40 minutes.
