WELLNESS EVENT – NOV. 2

Its amazing when a simple idea grows like a health fair like the one we hosted for the first time last Sat. Nov 2nd at the Orland Fire Protection District. Months and months of planning all came together and it was a great success. So many people to thank for their support, attendance and sponsorship. A very special thanks to our Orland Park seniors for attending and for giving us their great ideas for next year!. Thanks especially to Chief Schofield for letting us put this fair on, Betsy Dine who is just an amazing person to work with who helped me prepare and plan for the successful event it was. Most especially the exhibitors and sponsors. For me its always about Community and communities are built from the inside out , and I am so thankful for your partnerships and constant support for my events that educate our aging population. Sincere thanks to you all. See you next year !! Or sooner.

COFFEE & CONVERSATIONS

Growing up I watched my parents give back to the community over and over again, always trying to raise funds for our local schools, working and volunteering for the seniors at their “sale of works” to raise monies for the seniors. When I met Betsy Dine form the Orland park fire district and our relationship developed ‘Conversations & Coffee “ Was born. Chief Schofield, and Betsy were delighted and graciously offered the space to host this monthly event, that was started almost three years ago now. Both the chief and Betsy value our seniors and were totally open to this idea of starting a group .The purpose of this monthly meeting is to provide resources to our Orland park residents who find it so challenging to navigate our health care system in addition to all sorts of other topics they value education on. The seniors tell us what topics they would like to hear and we provide get all seek out trusted community partners to provide them with choice and knowledge on these topics. It’s a win, win for all , we learn from them and they learn from us. My continual appreciation goes out to the Orland fire district for their kindness in hosting this group.
